Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about 1 Dollar Passport Photo.

Photo Acceptance

Will my photo be accepted by the government?
Our AI validates your photo against official government specifications for head size, eye position, background color, and resolution. While we strive for compliance, we cannot guarantee acceptance as requirements may vary and decisions are made solely by government authorities. Always verify your photo meets current official requirements before submission.
What specifications do you check for?
We check head size ratio (percentage of frame), eye position, face centering, background color compliance, image resolution, and overall photo quality. Each country and document type has different requirements which we apply automatically.
What if my photo gets rejected?
If your photo is rejected, review the rejection reason from the government agency and compare it to our compliance checklist. You may need to retake the photo addressing specific issues like expression, lighting, or positioning. Since you can preview results before paying, we recommend ensuring you're satisfied with the compliance checks before purchase.

Printing Your Photos

How do I print my photos?
We provide a printable 4x6 inch sheet containing multiple copies of your photo. Take this file to any photo printing service (CVS, Walgreens, Costco, Walmart, or local print shops) and print it as a standard 4x6 photo. This typically costs $0.25-$0.50.
What paper should I use?
Use standard glossy or matte photo paper, depending on your document requirements. Most passport and ID photos accept either, but some countries specify one type. Check your specific document requirements.
Can I print at home?
Yes, if you have a photo-quality printer and proper photo paper. Set your printer to highest quality and ensure accurate color reproduction. However, professional print services often provide better and more consistent results.

Payment & Downloads

How does pricing work?
We charge $1 for 1 hour of unlimited downloads. During this time, you can create photos for any country and document type, and download as many times as needed.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, our secure payment processor. This includes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
What if I need more time to download?
If your 1-hour access expires before you download, you'll need to pay again ($1). We send a confirmation email with a recovery link that remains valid for 1 hour.
Can I get a refund?
We do not offer refunds on the base $1 photo fee. However, you can fully preview your processed photo with a watermark before paying. If a government agency rejects a photo you purchased, we'll refund you in full — send us proof of rejection. See our Refund Policy for details.

Download Access & Recovery

I closed the browser. How do I get back to my download?
You have two options within the 1-hour window. First, check your inbox — if you entered an email at checkout, we sent a confirmation email with a recovery link that takes you straight back to the download page. Second, the payment confirmation page itself shows a recovery link you can bookmark or copy before closing it.
I don't see the confirmation email. Where is it?
Check your spam or promotions folder. The email is sent within seconds of a successful payment from a no-reply address. If it is not in spam either, your email provider may have blocked it — use the recovery link shown on the confirmation page instead, or contact us.
My 1-hour access expired. What now?
After the 1-hour window closes, download access expires and you'll need to pay $1 again to download watermark-free photos. We strongly recommend downloading to your device the moment payment clears so you don't have to repurchase later.
Can I redownload the same photo later?
Only within the 1-hour window. We do not store your photos on our servers, so there is no "account history" to pull from. Save the file to your device (and any cloud storage you use) before the hour is up.

Privacy & Security

Do you store my photos?
No. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers. We have no ability to view, access, or store your photos. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your credit card details. The connection is encrypted using SSL/TLS.
What data do you collect?
We collect only the email address you provide during checkout (for payment confirmation and recovery links) and anonymous usage data to improve our service. We do not use your email for marketing unless you opt in.

Technical Questions

What browsers are supported?
We support modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For best results, use the latest version of your browser.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes! Our service works on mobile devices. You can take a photo directly with your phone camera or upload an existing photo from your gallery.
Why is processing taking a long time?
Processing speed can vary. Older or lower-powered hardware may take longer, and the first photo may take extra time as the AI model initializes.
The background removal isn't perfect. What can I do?
For best results, use a photo with good contrast between you and the background, even lighting on your face, and avoid wearing clothing that's similar in color to the background. A plain, contrasting background works best.

Countries & Documents

Which countries do you support?
We support 50+ countries including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, EU/Schengen countries, Japan, China, India, and many more. Each country has specific photo requirements that we validate automatically.
What document types are available?
Depending on the country, we support passports, visas, driver's licenses, national ID cards, and other official documents. Select your country to see all available document types.
How do you know the requirements are accurate?
We research official government sources for each country and document type. However, requirements can change, so we recommend verifying current requirements with the relevant government agency before submission.
