How to prepare
Sort these before your appointment and the photo passes first time.
- Non-white background — Background must be plain white with no shadows, patterns, or texture
- Shadows on face — Uneven lighting causing shadows will result in rejection for biometric standards
- Glasses glare — Remove glasses to avoid lens reflections that obscure eyes
- Wrong head size — Face must occupy 70-80% of the photo height (32-36mm)
- Photo too old — Must be taken within the last 6 months showing current appearance
- Eyes not visible — Both eyes must be clearly open and visible for biometric scanning
