Frequently Asked Questions
What size photo do I need for a Saudi Iqama?
Saudi Iqama photos must be 4x6 cm (40x60mm). This is the standard biometric ID photo size used in Saudi Arabia for residence permits. For digital submissions through Absher, photos should be 640x480 pixels.
Can I wear glasses in my Iqama photo?
No, glasses are generally not allowed in Iqama photos. You can only wear glasses if you have a letter from a registered medical practitioner stating they are medically necessary. Even then, the frames must not cover any part of your eyes.
Can I wear a hijab or religious head covering in my Iqama photo?
Yes, religious head coverings are permitted for women. However, your full face must be visible from the lower tip of your chin to your forehead, with no shadows on your face.
How can I change my Iqama photo online?
You can update your Iqama photo through the Absher platform. Log in to your account, navigate to Services > Passports > Iqama Services, then select 'Modify Iqama Photo' and upload your new image. The process is free online and takes 1-2 days.
What's the difference between Iqama and Saudi visa photo requirements?
While both require white backgrounds and similar facial positioning, Iqama photos are 4x6 cm (40x60mm) while Saudi visa photos are typically 2x2 inches (51x51mm). Iqama photos follow Saudi national ID standards.
