What size is the UAE ID card photo?
The UAE ID card photo size is 35mm x 45mm (3.5cm x 4.5cm). This follows ICAO international standards used by ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security). The image resolution should be 600 dpi.
What background color is required?
A plain white background is mandatory. This is the official ICP requirement following ICAO photo specifications. Grey, blue, or any colored backgrounds will be rejected.
Can I wear glasses in my UAE ID photo?
Yes, medical glasses are permitted as long as they don't obscure your eyes or cause light reflections. Sunglasses, tinted glasses, and decorative frames are not allowed.
Can I wear a headscarf or head covering?
Yes, head coverings are permitted for religious beliefs or national dress (for UAE citizens). However, your full face must remain visible from the bottom of your chin to the top of your forehead.
How is UAE ID photo different from US passport photo?
UAE ID uses 35x45mm (portrait orientation) while US passport uses 2x2 inches (51x51mm, square). Both require white backgrounds and neutral expressions, but UAE ID follows ICAO standards.
